Furry friends

by Zeynep Ozatalay

Kapil couldn’t stop thinking about Pintu, Jack and Rani, even as he was relishing his favourite chicken.

They must be hungry, he thought.

He asked his mother for some more chicken. As she went in the kitchen, he secretly slipped some rotis and a couple of chicken pieces into a bag he was hiding under the table.

His mother looked happy about her son’s growing appetite during the lockdown.

Kapil soon finished his lunch and rushed back to his room. He could hear his friends calling out to him from below.

He took out the secret rope and the tiffin. He placed the lunch in the tiffin and lowered it out of his window.

The cries from his friends got louder and happier.

Kapil watched from his window while his friends had their lunch.

Their wagging tails declared how much they had liked it.
