Temporal Elevations

by Aashti Miller

In hot air balloons,
they rise above,
or perhaps below,
for what could be millennia, months or minutes.

As the crow flies
a stone’s throw,
for what could be miles, millimeters or microns.

In hot air balloons,
black and white,
do they see the world in full colour?
Do they see the pools of blue,
or the great green fields?
Do they cross bubble gum bridges
and wield golden shields?

Wonder how far they can see,
from wherever they might be,
I wonder if we’d be visible, both you and me?
