Homeland

I move as the shifting sands,
I know where each crevice leads me to.
I flow like the waves of golden beads,
ending only where an endless mirage begins.
I find shelter against the warm dunes,
as I rest my head against it,
I find solitude in its isolation.
While some may choose to walk away,
perhaps to find something better.
I am a child of the desert. 
I rise and rest as the sun,
Here is where my ancestors walked.
This land was their home, and so it is mine.
