Smriti’s loyal companion, Luna, had been a constant thread since her childhood. During yoga sessions in the yard, a dog she named Stephie would join Srishti, weaving through poses with grace. Daily walks for Aanchal became emotional journeys, with a bunch of pups from the same litter turning routine into a joyous parade.
In the strangest of places, these animals became anchors of comfort, no matter how transient the surroundings. An outstretched paw, an intentional graze of the head, and a lick on the nose were extensions of the trust, the animals placed in humans. It was then that they realised that, in rescuing the strays, the strays, had rescued them right back."
